BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) - Former Secretary of State and Democratic Presidential Candidate Hillary Clinton will be the keynote speaker at this year's New York State Democratic Convention.
The convention will take place this Wednesday and Thursday at Hofstra University in Hempstead on Long Island and will include official Democratic nominations for statewide offices like the governor, lieutenant governor, comptroller and attorney general. There will also be planning sessions in preparation of the 2018 elections and a celebration of New York's Democratic values.
Secretary Clinton will deliver her speech on Wednesday.
“New York has led the way in fighting back against the divisive, hateful agenda of the ultra-conservatives in Washington and worked to create a fairer, more inclusive state for all,” said Secretary Clinton. “Working together we will elect more Democrats at every level of government to advance our shared progressive vision of equality and opportunity, and build a brighter future for generations to come. I look forward to joining Governor Andrew Cuomo and all New Yorkers in my home state at this celebration of our Democratic values as we work to win back the U.S. House and elect a Democratic State Senate Majority in New York.”
