SYRACUSE, N.Y. (AP) — Do you want to attend the New York State Fair? What about singing the national anthem? Now you can do both!

The New York State Fair is hosting an online contest for choosing performers to sing the national anthem every morning at the fair.

Judges have been reviewing video submissions and have chosen 20-semi-finalists and now people can narrow down the list to 13; one for each day of the fair.

The contestants are coming from nine counties in New York as well as Connecticut, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania.

The 13 winners will be able to attend the fair for free on their performance date.

The fair runs from August 21st to September 2nd, and to singers performing on dates from August 22nd to 25th are asked to sing the Canadian national anthem, in honor of the fair's Canadian Friendship Days.
