Governor Andrew Cuomo says the state will be launching a new enforcement program when it comes to discrimination in home rentals and sales.

Cuomo says three housing agencies have been hired to send people with diverse backgrounds out to pose as renters and buyers. The individuals will be on the lookout for bias among sellers and landlords.

The three agencies work in Buffalo, Syracuse and Westchester.

Cuomo says he also asked the Division of Human Rights and the Department of State to come up with new regulations to strengthen the anti-discrimination enforcement.
