BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — The Buffalo Bisons are doing their part in the fight against COVID-19.

The team donated $20,000 to a food pantry at Evergreen Health, and for the development of a new COVID-19 testing site on Bailey Avenue.

In addition to that donation, the Bisons are also supporting the city's "Youth Summer Reading Program", and recently bought lunch for hundreds of city employees.

The Rich Baseball Operations (the Bisons' ownership group) President Mike Buczkowski said the team is "happy to provide this meal as a way of saying thank you, and to keep their spirits high and to keep them doing the best job they've been doing."

Despite their season currently being on hold, the team is hopeful to salvage some form of a season later on in the fall.
