Speed limit makes students safer by Hyde Park

It is a sign of safer times in Niagara Falls.

Following several complaints from residents and school employees about high traffic speeds around Hyde Park School, officials have announced that the speed limit on Hyde Park Boulevard will be reduced to 25 MPH, and that school zone signs will be installed soon.

Earlier this year, residents came to lawmakers about the fact that there were no school zone signs around Hyde Park.

After looking into the situation, Niagara Falls City Council member Andrew Touma sent a letter to the NYSDOT.

A traffic engineering investigation concluded the area was in need of a 25 MPH school speed limit.
