Military servicemen and women past and present will soon be able to welcome a furry new family member into their home for free.

Starting Monday, the SPCA Serving Erie County is waiving adoption fees on all dogs seven years and older, and on all other animals, for anyone on active duty, reserves, honorable discharge, service-disabled veterans or those retired from military service.

The Vets & Pets program runs through November 12th, the day after Veterans' Day. Military ID is required.

Adoption fees will be half-off for all other members of the community during this time.

Animals can be adopted from the SPCA's shelter on Harlem Road in West Seneca or from several satellite locations.

Pictures and information of animals currently up for adoption are available at YourSPCA.org.
