SPCA offering parvovirus vaccines for your dog

Posted

The SPCA is offering free vaccines that protect your dog from a contagious, potentially life-threatening virus.

The parvovirus can affect dogs of all ages and breeds, and can be deadly without proper care, animal experts say. Parvo can be transmitted by any person, animal, or object that contacts an infected animal's waste, and can survive for months without a host.

The SPCA's first parvo clinic is scheduled for Saturday, April 29th, from 1:00 - 3:00 p.m. at the Lipsey Veterinary Clinic.

You don't need an appointment, but your dog must be on a non-retractable leash, organizers say.

If you have any questions, you can contact the SPCA Veterinary Department at (716) 875-7360, ext. 223.
