SPCA wants to start construction on new building

The SPCA is trying to raise funds to build a new building to house all if its friends.

According to the SPCA website, the current shelter located out in Tonawanda is outdated, built back in 1962. It may have been state of the art over 50 years ago, but the facility has a difficult time keeping up with the demands of treating more than 4,500 animals annually for diseases and medical issues.

The SPCA is hoping to build a facility in West Seneca, where a 40,000 square-foot structure along with a barn-like structure and a parking lot would be constructed.
