Burglars stole thousands of dollars' worth of the Irish Heritage Center's funds in early January. They also stole priceless documents ans pictures that can never be replaced.
South Buffalo is coming together to do what it can to help the center recover from the break-in. On February 24, the Irish Center will host a benefit featuring six bands. All funds will go to the Heritage Center.
Mary Heneghan is the chairwoman of the Irish Center. She said the center was already struggling to keep its doors open, and the burglary was something the center "most certainly did not need."
Patrick Holland, a South Buffalo native, is organizing the event. He says any donations to help fund the event will go a long way, as it already expects more than 500 people to attend. The donations can be sent directly to the Irish Center.
