There’s been a second deadly snowmobile accident on the southern tier, less than a month after the last fatal crash.
Deputies in Chautauqua County along with the Findley Lake, Clymer and Sherman fire departments were called to a snowmobile accident on trail 4F near Conway Road in the Town of French Creek around 11:40 p.m. Saturday night.
Two snowmobiles, driven by William Rick, 28, of Union City, Pa. and Matthew Teculver, 25, of Panama, NY, had collided head-on.
Both were taken by ambulance to the hospital, where Teculver was pronounced dead. Rick remains in critical condition.
The crash is still under investigation.
Less than a month ago, a 14-year-old boy from Buffalo was killed when he lost control of his sled in Allegany State Park and crashed into a tree.
