Plenty of skiers and snowboarders were getting their first turns of the season, as Kissing Bridge Ski Resort hit the 'on' switch for one of their chair lifts.
Getting on that first chair to the top, some say, is better than Christmas.
“To a lot of people this first chair is just like that first present in the morning. So, we're ready to open it up and get going,” said Andrew Minier of Kissing Bridge.
Turn the clock back one year, Kissing Bridge was hoping for weather like this year’s. Last year the ski resort didn't open until January.
“It was one of the worst ski seasons in the Northeast in history. This year, all indications are that we may be looking at one of the best ski season in the northeast in history,” said Minier.
