A teenage girl is being recognized, for her vision to revitalize her community.

Open Buffalo recently granted $2,500 to 16-year-old girl, Kennedy House. She got the money, by penning an essay about the importance of cleaning up litter in your neighborhood.  She says it can build a sense of pride in where you live.

She says, "I don't believe most people understand how what you see every day on your street and in your neighborhood plays a major role in honor and value. I can't think of anyone who honors or values dirt and messy-looking things."

Monday, she was recognized at the Slow Roll.
