The Erie County Sheriff's Office has canceled a Silver Alert early Friday morning for an 89-year-old Cheektowaga man.
Joseph A. Keenan had been reported missing from Chardon Drive, near the intersection of Union Road and Maryvale Drive, in a Silver Alert issued around 12:20 a.m. Law enforcement officials reported Keenan was last seen on foot and not in a vehicle. The alert was canceled when Keenan was found safe around 1:50 a.m.
A Silver Alert is issued by law enforcement when an individual with Alzheimer's disease, dementia, or related cognitive disorders is reported missing.
