A shooting victim who was driving himself to the hospital stopped at a first aid call to receive medical help.
The Buffalo Fire Department and Rural Metro Medical Services were attending to a different medical call near Navel Avenue and Texas Street around 1 a.m. when the victim drove up.
He told officials at the scene that he was shot on Brinkman Avenue and was driving himself to Erie County Medical Center when he spotted the emergency crews.
Another Rural Metro ambulance took the shooting victim to E.C.M.C. for treatment. His car was looked over by police detectives.
