An Erie County Sheriff's Office K9 team is responsible for helping a local family find their autistic loved one.

Deputy Lundberg and his partner Haso were dispatched to Aldrich Road in the Town of Collins Sunday morning.

Investigators say a car was forced to pull over on the side of the road. That's when the autistic teen fled the vehicle and ran into the woods.

Lundberg and Haso tracked the teen six minutes after they arrived. The teen was found in good health and was returned to family members.

Deputy Lundberg and Haso graduated from canine handler training in February.

Both received certification for tracking and narcotics detection.
