A sex offender is set to be extradited from Niagara County to North Carolina, after he was found in the City of Lockport.

The Niagara County Sheriff's Office says they got information from police in North Carolina that John Anthony Szwalla was wanted on a parole violation, for a charge of indecent liberty with a child.

Szwalla was arrested without a problem.

He's being held at the Niagara County jail.

Szwalla is also a New York State Level 3 sex offender.  A Level 3 sex offender is classified as a high risk of repeat offense, with a threat to public safety.

The Sheriff's Office did not say where Szwalla was found in Lockport.
