UPDATE: As of 10:55 p.m., police agencies have called off the search for the subject.
Several police agencies are conducting an investigation on Route 5.
According to Hamburg Police, around 8 p.m., officers stopped a vehicle on Lake Shore Road at the City of Lackawanna line.
Police say during the stop, a person exited the vehicle and ran from officers.
Authorities say the subject entered a wooded area along railroad tracks, on the former Bethlehem Steel Property.
Police from the City of Lackawanna, Village of Blasdell, NFTA K9, Erie County Sheriff Air 1, and the New York State Police are assisting in the investigation.
