New York Senator Chuck Schumer is pushing for more money to improve airfield operations at the Niagara Falls International Airport.
This year, a $4.35 billion federal airport improvement program passed. Senator Schumer is calling for some of that funding to be used in Western New York.
The money would be used to improve the runways, taxiways and signage at the airport. Senator Schumer also says those funds would improve the new tanker mission at the Niagara Falls Air Reserve Station.
