Orchard Park was the destination for runners and walkers, as the Hunter’s Hope Foundation second annual Kelly Tough 12K took place on Saturday.

The event moved from the HarborCenter to Orchard Park as founder Jim & Jill Kelly were were anxious to bring this year's event to their hometown. The Kelly Tough 12K is a competitive run and an added 1.2K fun run or walk that starts and finishes at Jim Kelly Boulevard.

The race and walk went down Southwestern Boulevard, through the Village of Orchard Park, back down Route 20A and close through the ECC South Campus.

Jessica Spino, the development and event manager for Hunter's Hope Foundation said the race is a signature event for fundraising for the foundation, which was established in 1997 and focuses on education, awareness and care for Krabbe disease and leukodystrophies.

The Kellys’ son, Hunter, died at the age of 8, after battling Krabbe leukodystrophy for his entire life.
