Teacher killed in Buffalo boat crash

The man killed in a boat crash in Buffalo has been identified as a local teacher.

According to a statement from the Lancaster School District, 43 year old Eric Przykuta, died while fishing Saturday night near the Small Boat Harbor off Fuhrmann Boulevard.

His body was recovered this morning, according to the U.S. Coast Guard Buffalo Sector.

According to the Coast Guard, the small boat crashed into the breakwall around 11 p.m. Saturday.

The Coast Guard says two of the three boaters were safely rescued and taken to the hospital as a precaution.

Officials say the men were not wearing life jackets.

Przykuta was a 7th grade science teacher at Lancaster Middle School.

He was also a lacrosse coach and President of the Lancaster Teachers Association.

He is survived by his wife and two children.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, May 19th at 9:30 am at Lancaster High School.
