COCHELLA, CA (WKBW) — Police in southern California are searching for a woman who was seen on surveillance video throwing a bag of puppies into a dumpster.
The woman was seen pulling up to a dumpster behind an auto parts store in Cochella, stepping out of her car, and dropping a bag in the dumpster. The Riverside County Department of Animal Services released the video.
A man who was going through the trash shortly after spotted the bag and found the seven puppies. Authorities believe they were three-day-old terrier mixes, and said they likely wouldn't have survived the heat if they hadn't been found so quickly.
