On Thursday Charles Schumer announced the approval of the Northland Corridor Redevelopment Project's design plan.
Schumer says the approval of the design plan will allow the project to become eligible for an estimated $19 million historic tax credits once included on the National Register of Historic Places register. He also feels it will spur economic development on Buffalo's East Side.
With this part of the application approved work can begin to restore the building's historic features and convert the vacant property, formerly Niagara Machine and Tool Works Factory, into a job-training center.
