Roswell Park Cancer Institute is among the best companies to work for in the country, according to a new independent online survey.
Roswell ranks 169th out of 300 on Forbes' 2017 list of America's Best Midsize Employers.
The rankings are based on the results of an online survey of 30,000 U.S. employees who work for companies that employ at least 1,000 people.
“This recognition is special for us because our employees were among those who participated in the survey, and the feedback they shared reflects the working environment they experience every day,” said Roswell Park Cancer Institute President and CEO Dr. Candace Johnson.
Roswell Park, a long-time anchor of the medical campus on the edge of Downtown Buffalo, is home to some 3,300 employees. It is one of the oldest cancer research centers in the nation.
Topping the list of best midsize employers is Lush, which specializes in retail cosmetics and personal care products.
Two Rochester employers also ranked in the top 300. The Rochester Institute of Technology came in at number 36, while Strong Memorial Hospital earned the 138th spot.
