Western New Yorkers have come together to provide food to thousands of hungry families just in time for the holidays.

The 11th Annual Operation: Rock Out Hunger to benefit the Food Bank of Western New York collected a record-breaking 4,350 turkeys, as well as $24,437 and 21,420 pounds of food. The food and fund drive is presented by 97 Rock and co-sponsored by WKBW-TV Channel 7.

DJ Dave Jickster from 97 Rock was living in a trailer for an entire week while collecting the goods.

Since 2006, Operation: Rock Out Hunger has helped provide more than one million meals and nearly 22,000 turkeys for local families in need.
