Last year the water level of Lake Ontario was a foot above average which has caused damage to many homes in Wilson.

"From shoreline erosion to loss of property for our businesses, it's equated to loss of revenue" Wilson homeowner Paula Gil said.

The damage means that contractors are needed, and according to Buffalo Marine Construction owner Tim Nelson, the requests have been coming in droves.

"This year is going to be a busy year on Lake Ontario" Nelson said.

According to Nelson the amount of calls they have received from customers in Wilson is more than all of last year combined.

"There's a lot of damage for sure and there's people that their houses can be effected if they don't do something soon."
