One of the New York State Police officers who helped search for two escaped murderers in 2015 has now released a book about his experience.

It's called "Relentless Pursuit: Inside the Escape from Dannemora: New York's Largest Manhunt."

In the book, State Police Maj. Charles Guess recounts the dramatic, three-week-long search for Richard Matt and David Sweat, who broke out of the Clinton Correctional Facility in upstate New York, also called Dannemora.

Matt was shot and killed by a U.S. Border Patrol SWAT team, while Sweat was shot and wounded by a state trooper.

Guess retired in 2016.
