Western New York Congressman Chris Collins announced the kickoff of the annual "Holiday Mail for Veterans" program Tuesday.

The Representative is asking local school to participate in this year's project.

“I am proud to once again invite all elementary age students in New York’s 27th District to create holiday cards for those who have served our country,” said Congressman Chris Collins. “Our nation’s veterans and their families have sacrificed so much, and with the holiday season quickly approaching we are thinking of those being cared for in our VA hospitals instead of spending time at home with loved ones. Together, we can provide some holiday cheer to those that are focusing on their recoveries during this time.”

Cards will be distributed to veterans at area Veteran Administration hospitals to show appreciation for their service this holiday season.

Anyone who wants to participate is asked to drop off the holiday cards to either of Congressman Collins' district offices no later than December 18th.

The offices are located at:

Lancaster District Office
2813 Wehrle Drive, Suite 13
Williamsville, NY 14221
Phone: (716) 634-2324

Geneseo District Office
128 Main Street
Geneseo, NY 14454
Phone: (585) 519-4002

Schools that would look to take part are asked to contact Shannon Dougherty at shannon.dougherty@mail.house.gov or at (585) 519-4002 by November 29th.
