Health officials say a fox infected with rabies attacked a person and several domestic animals at a home in Olean.
The fox was found on Canal Street off Route 16 on May 18. Laboratory testing by the New York State Health Department confirmed the animal was infected with the rabies virus.
Officials are asking people in the area to be aware of any unusual behavior in animals, both domesticated and wild, because exposure to the rabies virus can be fatal.
