There won't be a Queen City Pop Up this summer because city officials say there just aren't enough small business owners interested in taking advantage of the free retail space.

The Queen City Pop Up was started back in November 2014 as an opportunity for local retailers to build their businesses while providing shoppers with several local merchants under one roof. The program was also designed to fill vacant storefronts along the newly renovated and car-friendly part of Main Street. The Queen City Pop Up is located at 50 Fountain Plaza on the 500 block of Main Street.

The Summer 2018 edition of the Pop Up was set to run June 15 through August 31 but has been suspended due to a lack of applications.

Organizers say they hope to resume the Pop Up in the late fall ahead of the busy holiday season.
