BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — Doctors are constantly looking at different strains of the flu to create the most effective vaccine.
Dr. Mark Hicar from Oishei Children's Hospital says if you haven't gotten your shot yet, you shouldn't wait any longer.
Dr. Hicar says:
-Doctors would like to see everyone vaccinated by the end of October
-Young children 6 month to 8 years old need two vaccines, they need to get them a month apart from each other
-Young kids have the most problems with pneumonia and go to the hospitals more. More at risk for death.
Early Symptoms:
-Fever
-Severe body aches
-Stuffy nose is not really a good indicator
