The principal and two guidance counselors at a Buffalo school are on paid leave as an investigation into graduation data is undertaken by the district.
Superintendent Kriner Cash released a statement saying when he arrived in the district, several questions were raised about East High School’s 2015 summer credit recovery program.
An internal fact-finding audit is underway. The principal, Dr. Casey Young, and two guidance counselors are on paid administrative leave.
Cash says he has spoken to the state education commissioner and indicated he may need the state’s help “if a broader investigation extending to other schools is warranted.”
