BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — The Erie County GOP has endorsed Lynne Dixon to run to replace Stefan Mychajliw as Erie County Comptroller.

Dixon most recently ran for Erie County Executive in 2019, losing to Mark Poloncarz.

“I have spent my career as an independent leader, ready to stand up for Erie County taxpayers no matter the cost. I will bring that same passion for protecting our taxpayers to the Comptroller’s office,” said Dixon. “Now, more than ever, we need checks and balances in county government. We need someone who isn’t afraid to put people ahead of partisan politics - and my record proves that I’m the right person for the job.”

“Politicians these days seem more interested in continuing to fight yesterday’s political battles rather than address the issues facing Erie County,” continued Dixon, “I’m not interested in playing that game - it’s a waste of time and resources. Erie County has long deserved better solutions to our most pressing problems, and I promise to deliver those solutions.”

Current Erie County Comptroller Stefan Mychajliw announced he will not be running for Erie County Comptroller, instead running for Hamburg Town Supervisor.

The Erie County Democrats have endorsed Kevin Hardwick for Erie County Comptroller.

The election for Erie County Comptroller takes place on November 2nd.
