New campaign finance records show that New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo spent more than $35 million on his successful bid for a second term.
Disclosures filed Monday show the Democratic governor still has more than $9 million in his campaign account — still far more than the entire amount raised throughout the campaign by his Republican opponent, Westchester County Executive Rob Astorino.
Cuomo's new disclosure shows he raised $1.3 million in the period between Oct. 24 and Dec. 1.
Cuomo raised more than $45 million for his re-election — the largest amount of any governor in the country. Astorino's latest campaign filings show he raised about $6 million over the entire campaign.
Cuomo beat Astorino 52 percent to 40 percent on Nov. 4.
