Police:Boat batteries, GPS units in driver's car

Boat batteries and GPS units were found inside a Cheektowaga man's car after he was pulled over early Tuesday morning for failing to stay in his lane and following to closely, police say.

West Seneca Police say they noticed 26-year-old Michael Lawicki driving recklessly on Clinton Street. Lawicki was pulled over and given multiple field sobriety tests, which police say he failed.

During the booking, police say they discovered drugs in Lawicki's pants. The officer also discovered 10 marine batteries and many GPS units while searching his car. 

Lawicki is charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance, operating a vehicle under under the influence of drugs, and operating a vehicle with suspended and proper plates.

The West Seneca Detective Bureau is trying to track down the owners of the stolen property.
