A substitute teacher with the Buffalo Public School district has been fired after he allegedly assaulted and injured a student.
The incident happened Thursday at Southside Elementary School on Southside Parkway.
A district spokesman says the teacher, 31-year-old Mark Magavern got into a physical altercation with an eighth grade student in front of other students.
911 was called and Buffalo Police responded to the scene and arrested Magavern.
The student victim was back at school on Friday.
