Police standoff ends peacefully

Buffalo Police say a standoff that began this afternoon near Potomac and Richmond Avenues has ended without incident.

Officers responded to calls of a suicidal 37 year old man, who barricaded himself inside an upstairs apartment.

Police say the man broke several windows, throwing large objects out of them, and threatening to harm police.

The swat team later moved in and took the man into custody.

He was was taken to ECMC for an evaluation.

No charges have been filed at this time.
