Police seize more than 15 pounds of marijuana in Jamestown

Around 5 p.m. Friday, members of the Jamestown Metro Drug Task Force executed a search warrant at 35 Lakeview Ave. 

This was a result of an ongoing investigation into the sales and trafficking of illegal drugs in the Jamestown area, according to police. 

Investigators and members of the Jamestown Police SWAT Team entered the apartment and found more than 15 pounds of packaged marijuana, a loaded handgun, a bulletproof vest and almost $48,000 dollars in cash. 

Police say, Bryan Torres, 23 was receiving and trafficking the marijuana from that location.

Torres was taken into custody after a vehicle stop near the apartment. 

He's being charged with Criminal Possession of Marijuana in the 1st degree and Disorderly Conduct. 

The investigation continues and additional charges are expected.
