Police seek witnesses to crash between trucks

Police are looking for witnesses who saw a crash between a pickup truck and dump truck on Campbell Boulevard in Amherst Friday morning.

The roadway was shut down after the 10 a.m. accident between North French and Dodge Road. Investigators say the driver of the pickup truck, Bret Tramposch, 58, of Getzville, made a left hand turn in front of the dump truck and was struck.

Tramposch had to be extricated from his vehicle and suffered a spinal fracture, broken ribs and multiple other injuries. The driver of the dump truck, William Wheeler, 58, of Middleport, was not injured.

Amherst Police say charges are pending and are lookin.g to speak to witnesses who saw the accident. Anyone with information is asked to call 716-689-1322.
