Police are on the lookout for a maroon sedan after they say the driver hit a 14-year-old on Grand Island then took off.

The teenager was riding his bike on Ransom Road Wednesday evening when he says he was hit from behind.  He was able to give police a description of the car that hit him, but couldn't make out the numbers or letters on the license plate.  The teen was treated for minor injuries but was released.

The Erie County Sheriff's Office is now searching for an older maroon sedan.  They say it might have damage to its front right fender, and it has an orange license plate.  The teenager who was hit told police the car was driving west on Ransom Road after it hit him, then turned right on Stony Point Road.

Anyone with information about this incident or the vehicle is asked to contact the Erie County Sheriff's Office.
