A Batavia man faces a list of charges after police say he punched a dog and stole a woman's phone.
According to the police report filed on January 26th, 34-year-old Shawn Twardowski strangled and punched a female beagle and subjected the female acquaintance to physical contact.
Police say Twardowski then stole the woman's phone and tried to disable it so she couldn't call 911 for help.
Police eventually arrested the suspect after he barricaded himself inside a bedroom.
Twardowski was arraigned in Batavia City Court and remanded to the Genesee County Jail in lieu of $50,000 cash bail.
