A Niagara Falls man is facing a number of charges after police say he attacked two New York State Troopers who were trying to help him early Friday morning.
Police were called to the 190 on Grand Island around 2:20 a.m. for the report of a person walking on the shoulder of the road. Troopers say they tried to help the man who was walking, and that's when 34-year-old Damien Hayden started attacking them with a large plastic flashlight. Police say they took Hayden into custody after a struggle.
He's now charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon, Assault, Trespass, Disorderly Conduct, Resisting Arrest, and Obstruction of Governmental Administration. Hayden will be arraigned in Grand Island Court.
