University at Buffalo Police have identified the suspect responsible for break-ins into a UB administrative building.
According to UB, the university has obtained a warrant for Daniel Soares. Soares, a UB student, is charged with burglary, attempted burglary and possession of burglar's tools.
UB's Chief of Police Gerald Schoenle thanked the community for its help in identifying the suspect.
Schoenle says Soares has fled the area and is working with local law enforcement to take him into custody.
University Police say Soares has a previous history of breaking into schools and hacking computers to change his grades. Police have no evidence at this time that Soares was up to any hacking in this most recent incident.
