Police investigating overnight fatal crash on Main Street

Buffalo Police are investigating an overnight fatal one vehicle accident. It happened in the area of the 1100 block of Main Street, in the city. They responded to the call just before 3:45 a.m. 

Investigators say a vehicle was traveling on Main Street headed towards Best Street when it crossed the double yellow line, went up on the sidewalk, struck a metal-concrete sign and flipped over.

Police are telling us there were two occupants in the car. The male, who was in his late 20's, was extricated from the vehicle by Buffalo Fire and was pronounced dead at the scene. 

The female, also in her late 20's, was taken to ECMC and is in stable condition. 

Officials are investigating if speed played a role in the fatal accident. We'll have more on this story as information becomes available.
