North Tonawanda Police are investigating a deadly accident in an alleyway near 14th and 15th Avenues, near Oliver Street.

According to police, a 48-year-old woman was attempting to back her vehicle into the driveway when it got stuck in a snowbank. She, and her 10-year-old daughter, attempted to free the vehicle.

Police say the woman told the girl to get into the driver's seat as she attempted to push the car near the open driver's side door.

Police believe the woman was trying to rock the car, and as she was pushing forward, the daughter accidently hit the accelerator while the car was still in reverse. The car then moved, causing the door to hit the woman and she became pinned underneath the vehicle.

The woman was trapped under the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say no names are being released at this time.

A GoFundMe page has been set up in honor of the family during this tragic time, click here to visit the page.
