Police investigating a fatal overnight hit and run

Buffalo Police are investigating a fatal hit and run that occurred Sunday morning just after 3 a.m. in the area of Broadway and Gatchell Street.

Investigators say a 30-year-old male, was struck by an SUV headed eastbound on Broadway while he crossed the street. 

According to police, the victim was transported to ECMC with serious injuries and was later pronounced dead. 

The vehicle also hit an NFTA bus shelter after striking the man. Police are telling us the unoccupied SUV was recovered a short time later and is now in police custody.

This is the fourth hit and run in Buffalo since May 26th. Three of them have been deadly, a fourth critically injured a seven year-old boy. Police have made no arrests in any of the cases.
