Police at SUNY Fredonia issued an emergency alert after a student reported seeing a suspicious package inside an unattended vehicle.
An email alert was sent to students and staff warning of an emergency in the area of Dods Hall and asking them to avoid the area.
But the university says, by the time police arrived, the package was gone. They are currently investigated what took place.
Neighboring police agencies came to campus to assist in this investigation.
