Police are investigating a deadly crash late this morning on Southwestern Boulevard in Hamburg.
The crash happened about 10:45 a.m. near Brompton Drive near ECC's South Campus.
According to investigators, a vehicle driven by Geoffrey Bottoms, 29 of Orchard Park, was heading westbound on Southwestern when another vehicle, driven by Douglas Pohlman, 80 of Blasdell, tried to turn left from Brompton onto Southwestern. Both vehicles collided.
The crash caused Bottoms' car to hit a utility pole and flip over. He died at the scene.
Pohlman was taken to ECMC with non life-threatening injuries.
Police believe speed was a factor.
Anyone who may have witnessed the accident is asked to call Hamburg Police at 648-2603.
