Police in Rochester are investigating a robbery that's being called "racially motivated."

The Monroe County Sheriff's Office says $250 was taken from a dorm Thursday at Roberts Wesleyan College. Investigators say shaving cream was used to write messages targeting African Americans.

They say the suite is shared by members of the basketball team.

Deputies say the robbery is being investigated as criminal mischief and larceny.
