For the second day in a row the Lockport Police Department is investigating a threat at a local school.  Police say the anonymous report of possibly violence at North Park Junior High School is unsubstantiated.

There was an increased police presence in the area of the school Friday.  Police are encouraging kids and parents to continue their routines as normal, and be assured police and the district are working to keep everyone safe.

Police are also asking people to not perpetuate rumors on social media, and say many of the recent postings have been incorrect and misleading, causing alarm in the community.

This is the second day in a row that Lockport Police have been investigating a possible threat at a local school.  On Thursday, police looked into a possible threat at Lockport High School.  New York State Police are now investigating those alleged threats.

Anyone with credible information concerning school violence is encouraged to contact the police department immediately at 433-7700.
