Buffalo police officers used bloody footprints to try to track down a driver who ran away from a crash scene in the Johnson neighborhood of the city's east side.
Buffalo police, firefighters, and an AMR ambulance arrived at the crash on Broadway and Madison Street around 2 a.m. Friday. But when they arrived, there was no patient to treat. The dark colored SUV was on its side in a parking lot. Officers used flashlights to check the vehicle and surrounding area for evidence.
An officer at the scene told a 7 Eyewitness News photographer that bloody footprints were found, and they believe the driver was injured and ran away. They were using the footprints to try to track the driver down.
7 Eyewitness News has reached out to a police spokesperson for an update on this investigation. We are waiting to hear back.
